Disability Awareness

The Disability Discrimination Act (1995) promotes and protects the rights of disabled people. In the interests of social inclusion, it calls for us all to make ‘reasonable adjustments’ in the way we think and behave.

As a Passenger Assistant, it is part of your role to make these adjustments for your passengers comfort and security, for example safely securing a wheelchair user in your vehicle, speaking louder for the hard of hearing or leading the blind.

This course will teach you the practical elements of how you can safely deal with disabilities and also the correct way to behave and speak.
